The Anchor Bay Choir is the premiere children's choir on California's Mendocino coast. Founded in 2004, the choir program teaches talented children to read, write, and perform music to a high standard. Currently, our 24 members come from Sea Ranch to the south and Manchester to the north.

Auditions are held twice a year: in late Summer and in January. Please call 884-5477 to schedule an audition. The choir accepts singers between the ages of 6 and 14. There are two levels: Anchor Choir (4th-9th graders) practices on Sundays 1-2:30pm Bay Choir (1st-4th graders) practices 12:15-1pm on Sundays. The choir takes the summer season off.

The Concert Season is free to the public on the Mendocino coast. Please see www.anchorbaymusic for rehearsal and concert Schedule.

Repertoire is mostly secular, from many eras and styles including folk, classical, popular, and jazz. The choir serves as a resource to the artistic community, having performed at local venues with the Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers, for the annual Lessons and Carols, and with Gualala Arts Center Theatre in their productions of "Scrooge" and "Annie". The upcoming performance of "The Secret Garden" will feature two members of the choir in starring roles. The choir is available for weddings and other special events.

Scholarships are available. The Anchor Bay Children's Choir is a member of the Redwood Chamber of Commerce

The Director is Susan Bohlin, Director of Training for the award-winning Piedmont Children's Choir.

Los Coros de Anchor Bay fueron creados para los niños y los adolescentes jovenes a quienes les gusta cantar y aprender a leer música. Hay un programa de ensenanza disponible en la costa de Mendocino para aprender música clasica y una mezcla de estilos disenados para que los estudiantes disfruten de la música y se sientan retados.

El coro se reune dos veces al mes, los fines de semana: de septiembre a diciembre y de febrero a junio. Damos tres conciertos por semestre. La música tambien ayuda en el aprendizaje del ingles, las matemáticas y la cultura. Varios miembros del coro de Anchor Bay participaron en las producciones del teátro.

Los miembros de los coros de Anchor Bay tambien pueden participar en un Camp musical durante el varano acreditado por el ACA. Este evento es patrocinado por Piedmont Choirs.
